They say "if you love what you do, you'll never have to work a day in your life." Tattooing has proven that to me, as have the amazing clients that I have encountered over the years. The greatest part of this job is being able to give people a sense of confidence and pride in the skin they're wearing. It is one of the most rewarding parts of my life. Tattooing is a sacred art that is becoming more of a part of everyday life for the masses with each and every day. Me, my son (Carson) and my dog (Bruno) are on a mission to integrate tattoos into ALL walks of life... I thank all of you taking an interest in my work and for giving my family and I the chance to live an amazing life, doing what I/WE love to do. Life would not be the same if it weren't for all of you trusting me with your tattoos and supporting my art. If we've met and worked together, thank you so much!! If we haven't yet, then I hope to meet you very soon!!

Leave the bandage on for 24-48 hours. If it comes off prior to the 48 hour mark, THAT IS OKAY!
Once the bandage comes off, rinse the tattooed area with warm water,
Then apply and lather a small amount of non-scented soap. (Click link above to order). Gently rub the soap over the tattooed area, cleaning the tattoo in small circles.
After cleaning the area for 15-30 seconds (or until thoroughly cleaned), rinse the soap off with warm water.
Once the area is cleaned and the soap is completely rinsed off, dry the area with a clean paper towel and letting it air out.
Then apply a small layer (amount differs based on size of tattoo), of non-scented lotion to your tattoo. Rub it all the way in, without leaving any shine.
Repeat this process 2-3 times daily for approximately two weeks. Time and amount may differ depending on the tattoo.
We will go over all specifics at your appointment!
That's tough to say. Some shops/artists charge by the tattoo itself and not the time it takes. Personally, I have found that charging by the individual piece and working with clients budgets is the best course of action. I'm POSITIVE you won't have that issue with me... these things hurt a bit, so I try to get in and out and send you on your way with a beautiful, new piece of art on you. I have found over the last 10-15 years, that you will ABSOLUTELY get what you pay for in this industry. I mean people will spend $300 on a pair of Yeezy slides (YES Carson (my son), I'm talking to you 😡 ), and then get a tattoo done for $30 in a friends kitchen, rather than paying $100 in a clean, professional studio. This never made much sense to me. These things are permanent! It's best to save and be ready than it is to try to find the cheapest deal. Quality will be noticeable a lot longer than the extra money spent.
All of that being said, I know tattoos can be expensive, so talk to me, I will work with any and all clients!
So, if your appointment is at 1pm and we start stenciling/drawing on skin/tattooing at 1:25 pm, and then take one or two small 5 minute breaks and finish the tattoo at 3:35 pm, then more than likely you'll be charged for two hours. Now, if we take a 45 minute break because you have to call your boyfriend/girlfriend and talk to them about your dinner plans, then I'm probably going to charge for that time. If I get a call from my kid's school and take 30 minutes, I will NEVER charge. If you have an emergency phone call and are away for 10-15 minutes, then I won't charge. Hopefully this kinda makes sense, pricing for tattoos is not an exact science, so always be prepared for more than you think you'll need, so there is no issue with it at the end of your session.
It would be AWESOME of you to leave a tip for your tattoo, especially if you know that I / the artist took their time and put in all their effort to give you an exceptional experience. However, IT IS ALWAYS APPRECIATED, BUT I NEVER EXPECT A TIP.
As far as the amount for the tip? Most folks sorta look at it using restaurant tip logic. 15% - 25% is common. However, ANYTHING is appreciated. I love to accept client's artwork or stuff that they have made, or really any cool gifts are appreciated! You all are my people, so don't ever put tipping me over doing what you've gotta do. I will love, appreciate and respect the hell out of you forever simply by trusting me to make art on your skin.
Personally, I love it when clients bring a friend. If it makes you feel more comfortable or at ease, then by all means! I enjoy the conversation with folks just as much as I enjoy the tattoo itself. However, it can be incredibly distracting and counter productive to bring friends that will try to tell us, as the professionals, what to do. Often times, clients will bring a friend that only has one or two tattoos, and they will correct the artist on placement, size, composition and so forth. I assure you, I know what I am doing and I will give you the best possible tattoo I can, in the best place you have available.
So bring someone with you, sure!!! I love to meet new people and talk about cool stuff!! Plus, I want you to have the best time humanely possible getting your tattoo, so by all means!!!
HOWEVER, PLEASE do not bring anyone that is going to be distracting or try to be too involved in the process. If it becomes a distraction, I will have to politely ask the guest to wait outside or in the lobby.
Typically, I do not tattoo anyone under the age of 18. However, that is contingent upon (mainly) the studio's rules at that time, what the tattoo is, where it will be placed and honestly, I do base my decision on the attitude of the minor. If you come in and you're cussing at your mom/dad for them talking or setting stipulations on your design, or if I feel the parent allowing you to do this is being disrespected at all, I will probably stop and not tattoo you that day. SO BE NICE TO THE MOMS AND DADS OUT THERE!!!!!
Yes, for one year. If I tattoo you and you wait 5 years to get ahold of me for a touch up, I probably won't touch it up for free. SO, its always best to get ahold of your artist about a month or so after the tattoo to discuss whether or not the touch up would be necessary at that time. There are many many factors with this, so it can be a case by case deal.
You can just call or text my phone (info all up at the top), you can message me through the website, you can message me through instagram @tattoosforcoolfolks (which I am not the BEST at getting back to quickly), you can email me tattoosforcoolfolks@gmail.com
Just shooting me a text message is easiest. 614-370-7285
YES!!! I love LOVE LOVE cover ups!! I will do my absolute best to turn any old tattoo that you are not happy with into a new, awesome tattoo that you can be proud of wearing!
When it comes to tattooing over scars, it is 100% a case by case basis. It depends on how old the scars are, how deep the initial cuts were, how much scar tissue is there, etc... So just get ahold of me and we can go from there!
